Avant is equipping its franchisees and their care teams with Government information needed to help fight the spread of coronavirus, COVID-19.
Sally Graham, founder and Managing Director of Avant Homecare, which has a ‘Good’ CQC rating for all its franchise and company offices, a 100% record of quality care delivery in the community, says: “We have always distributed announcements to our franchisees, staff and customers, about health conditions and related issues. Since the coronavirus outbreak we have started sending out daily updates of Government information.
“As a responsible franchisor, it is vital that we do this for public health reasons, but it also saves our franchisees time and effort in keeping track of the changing situation. It is just one of the many services that we provide to our franchisees.”
In response to official concerns that fake news about the coronavirus is causing confusion, Sally says: “All our communications about the situation are official information and advice provided by Government experts.
“We are particularly aware of the need to follow Government guidelines because most of the people our teams care for are in the older age group or may already have underlying health conditions.”
The information, sent online from Avant’s head office, includes updates about the Government’s coronavirus action plan as it stands at the time the message is sent, how the action will change as the virus spreads, what people can do to protect themselves and their families, and a link to the action plan.
Avant franchisees are dedicated to ensuring that their care managers and care team staff are fully aware about the latest Government advice about practical steps to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. All Avant carers are trained in hygiene and infection control as part of their initial training for the job.
Sally says: “We are dedicated to providing up-to-date information and advice to all our franchisees and carers so they can protect the people they care for, and themselves.”
